The Battle for Rome is the first and only strategy game where citizens, who behave like living, independent beings, are your primary resource. Power and prestige cannot be purchased, they must be earned and taken. Build your dynasty over many years. The fate of civilization is in your hands- -you must balance your own ambition with your people's needs. The monuments you ask them to build are a testament to the prestige you have among your people.

The Battle for Rome lets you pick a patron noble house and embark on a branching set in the 1st century BC. Straying from the more battle-heavy RTS titles, the game's many quests revolve around achieving specific economic or social goals within your city. A military victory is sometimes necessary, yet you won't be able to sustain an army if you don't take the time to foster a strong empire and economy to support it. Creating a successful empire revolves around keeping your citizens safe and happy. Constructing numerous types of buildings to fulfill citizens' needs in the areas of food, religion and numerous other areas is primarily how you'll accomplish this task.

The original project is based on Devana. Whist many elements of the game remain similar to this projects much of the code, grafics and options are new.
